Mechanical alloying (MA) is an ideal solid state processing technique to synthesize metal matrix composites (MMCs) reinforced by nano-sized particles synthesized in-situ. MA is a solid state powder processing technique which involves repeated cold welding, fracturing and re-welding of the blended particles in a high energy ball mill.
